This cowl is made using the easiest form of brioche knitting there is… single color, even number of stitches with no increases or decreases. Consequently, every row is basically the same… no need to remember if this is a knit right-side or purl wrong-side row.
The variations
The original version (more checkerboard like) with more neutral colors was my first version. The green & purple ombre is the pattern as it was published in TKGA's Cast On magazine. The concept is the same, but the sizing is slightly smaller, and it used sets of mini-skeins instead of individual colors
